SCADA
The installation of a SCADA automation system in 2016 allows the District to maintain constant water levels in each channel segment using a monitoring system. The combination of automated gates, flow monitoring and centralized reporting system (SCADA) devices allows the District to implement a network management system that provides management of flow control, demand management (faster response to meet grower demands in multiple channel segments), customer order management (from multiple days to a day and in some instances, down to hours), distribution efficiency and system wide operational controls that are lacking at this time due to the required individual manual gate operations that impact accuracy of water deliveries.
